The land for the club was purchased for $350,000 and included five bungalows and three houses. Entrance fees and annual dues in 1914 were a mere $300 with each member buying a “Certificate of Beneficial Interest” for $1500. In the early 1920’s, North Shore also had its own private beach and waterfront, now Tappen Beach, a boathouse, and a pier with a catwalk up the hill to the clubhouse
